Experiential Learning Network 

Breaking new trail to improve learning conditions for our students

Sign-up for the 2021-22 Learning Network is open!


The 2020-21 Learning Network focused on the following topics:


  • Outdoor Classroom: Place-based learning using the Forest School model. Integrating Math and Literacy in the outdoors.
  • FN Ways of Knowing, Doing and Being
  • Integration of Yukon First Nation Ways of Knowing, Being and Doing
  • Cross-Curricular lesson plans for Outdoor Education. For example, an ice study unit or a simple machine unit that would mainly be done outside and that would integrate grammar, English language arts, science, math, arts, ADST, etc. 
  • First Nations Ways of Knowing, being and doing. And balanced literacy. 
  • Inclusive Education, Experiential Learning/Project Based Learning, Numeracy
  • Integrating curricular concepts into outdoor experiences, assessment of student learning, integration of Yukon First Nation ways of knowing and doing.
